āIt was natural and simple, like opening a window ⦠and knowing itās a girlās skin the sunās shining on and a girlās hair the windās blowing about.ā (Dorley 31 āSkin and Bonesā)
Okay so this happened to me today, I was sat outside work having lunch in the sun, in a dress, feeling good
just spent an hour tracing a stack overflow in parakeet, right back to some code I wrote 11 months ago that I knew I'd need to fix at some point to make sure it wouldn't do that... and then forgot about.
huh, Martin in Dorley chapter āHome Away From Homeā sorta sums up the general appeal of forcefem, and Dorley more specifically, to trans readers - just having to _go along_ with the process of transition happening rather than being _actively in control_ of it

Iāve been running with kwallet on, but the kde setting to store WiFi passwords system-wide instead of per-user in wallet, and this seems to have fixed both the login/wake/unlock issue, and WiFi not connecting on boot

turning kwallet off shouldāve done it but failing that Iāll switch to greetd from sddm.
Unsure if it fixes one of the other weird sleep/hibernate issues but I think (hope) the freeze on wake is gone?

finally, after years, I am documenting my goddamn truenas ACL situation, in some vague attempt at understanding what I actually need this nightmare for
we'd be doing a lot better if folks would stop assuming malice every single time something goes wrong, especially about things that are highly nuanced and extremely difficult to manage. things going correctly ~99% of the time and having ~1% of things go wrong doesn't immediately invalidate the 99%.
for extremely normal and extremely professional reasons, I am considering inserting gifs into a word document. I have been assured this is possible and I do not know how to feel, but it *is* useful in this circumstance
I am without chocolate eggs today, for it is February, and also nearly midnight, but oh my god I cannot get over this bit and *clears throat* need! (towards the end of the Dorley chapter āOld Soldiersā)
Mia@mia.omg.lol
yeah he does, Steph.
anyway, think i need another chocolate egg after that ending
